You'll have to connect your sound system using the audio/optical jack, either directly from the mac mini, or through the TV's audio/optical output, given the TV has an HDMI input that receives the audio from the mini.

Depends. If it's a WebKit-based plugin, yes.
WebKit-based plug-ins can be stored inside the bundle of any application that uses the WebKit, by storing it in:
AppName/Contents/Plug-ins
where AppName is the actual application’s executable bundle.
If you're not using a WebKit-based plugin (anything that works cross-platform), you'd have to install it into ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins and I doubt Apple would allow that.
But legally you'd have to get permission from the plugin's author to distribute it anyways.

I'll go against the grain and say keep what you have.
You stated you want to cut down on costs, so unless you are a business doing some funky accounting tricks, your equipment is already paid for. And it sounds like since you do Apple dev as a profession, you may kick yourself in the future for having sold the Mac Pro for a ****** Windows box when you pick up another contract.
I also do contract work, and wouldn't dream of selling my personal equipment I use for business unless it was literally a "sell the Mac Pro or lose my apartment" kind of deal.
It's not sell apartment, but I do need the cash. Plus I simply cannot justify a high-end mac pro and a high-end macbook pro. I'll do work on one or the other but not both (impossible to sync 200gb of virtual machines). I kind of temporarily bought both because I couldn't make up my mind, knowing that if I try both eventually I'll sell the one I don't use later on. The problem is, I'll use the macbook pro for a few days hear the fans go on 100% for an hour or want to play a game and copy everything and switch to the mac pro. Then I have to be on-site at a client or just get tired of the home office and copy everything back to laptop and the cycle repeats itself.
But the reason why I keep leaning on macbook pro 15 + gaming rig, is because I like the idea of the primary computer being the portable macbook pro 15. So I have all my work always and it's fast enough for work. And have a gaming pc so I'm not overheating / abusing the laptop for games (unless I'm traveling :)

FWIW, I have the same problem with one of my Wiimotes and Spongebob CFTKK (Yeah, I know, but the kidlets enjoy the game). Unplug and replug the nunchuck and it works just fine.

There is a technique to upgrading the RAM of the computer that often goes amiss for those who do it themselves. There is a flathead plastic screw between the function keys that if it isn't turned back right, the keys get loose. To add to the confusion there is another screw underneath a magnet that needs to be placed back the right direction when finishing the job. The magnet is under the keyboard. Better to let an authorized technician do the RAM update than anybody else.

I did notice that the SMP deadlines are tight, but if you run the normal client, it is PPC only, and the points you get are low. Boo!

The research arm of mobile advertising and analytics firm Chitika yesterday announced (http://chitika.com/research/2010/ios-4-now-powering-50-of-iphone-traffic/) that according to data pulled from the broad range of iPhone devices accessing its network
Yeah because Chitika is know to produce reliable information. Eg, their Ipad tracking that indicated like double the real shipments several times and they just refused to believe that their method was dead wrong :D

Looks like a bunch of cheap tablets I've seen in the stores under other manufacturer's names (Coby, Sylvania, etc.):

I have a question about inserting photos in your posts when using and iPad (pr iPhone for that mater). I just started using the DropBox app to upload photos to and then using a link to the file. But I was curious if I could do this using any of the services from MobileMe, which I'm paying for. There is the Gallery and iDisk available.
The problems I'm having are that the iDisk doesn't seem to let you upload photos to it, but it does create links to the file. And the Gallery let's you upload to it, but the files links it creates are to the phot's album on the MobileMe site, so the photos doesn't appear when I insert it in a post.
Am I missing something, or is Apple's premium service not as useful as I thought?

The neck of that guitar you have, you say you can't wrap your hand comfortably around it? Can you get your thumb over the top and your four fingers around from the bottom? Your fingers don't have to join but if you can do all that then you should be able to play the guitar.
However, I started on a Fender starter pack. It was decent but eventually sold it (now I regret it). I now have an acoustic electric.
Basically I am learning that it is not the instrument. If the guitar is playable, stays in tune most of the time, and you can actually hold it comfortably then learn on that, cherish it as your first, and move up and onward once you learn a bit more.
Do you want an electric simply because electric is "cool" or are you really looking for a certain sound. Surely you won't get those real heavy power chords out of an acoustic. You can play a power chord, but for it to sound like many bands I'm sure the electric is where it's at.
To answer your question, the starter packs are easily grown out of but not a bad investment, especially if you learn how you can modify it as your ear grows (not literally but figuratively).
I'd be real interested in seeing that guitar.

Completely painless upgrade thanks to Pkgbakup and Dropbox. Now to see if claimed battery improvements are real
Please let us know, this battery issue with 4.3.1 is really bothering me for the last 2 months. If anyone else can confirm battery life improvements from 4.3.1/2 I would much appreciate it!

It wouldn't surprise me if we were all being trolled by one genius behind the *LTD* and Winni accounts. They do have one thing in common, getting them to admit that their opinion may be misinformed is like trying to divide by zero.
Personally, I think LTD is fake... he's having a laugh in his role as uber Fanboi.

I was actually hoping Apple's Movie Store would flop. Apple needs a wake-up call, and needs to stop cutting corners.
I bought one to test the system; I won't be buying anymore until they are DVD quality.
