No SHSH for 4.2.1? No restore for you, that simple.
When firmware is no longer the most current, this is what happens.

Despite posting impressive sales of the iPad last quarter, Apple saw its tablet market share drop from 95 percent to 77 percent as shipments of Google Android-based tablets chipped away at the company's tablet dominance, a new report says.
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/01/31/apples_share_of_tablet_market_slides_to_77_android_rises_to_22.html
( Bit of a dramatic title by Apple Insider, 2.1 million Android tablets were sold to bring down the iPad marketshare to 77% )
Not at all surprising. Eventually, the open platform will always win over the platform that only one player uses. The iOS platform will become a niche platform just as Mac OS (X) still is one today.
If you want to own a market, you have to open your platform to other players, just like Google and Microsoft license their software to whoever wants to make hardware and software for them. Divide et impera - divide and rule. Apple never understood this simple concept.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. He says it is a legal copy from Apple. You will have to contact dev support then and get access to the dev forums.
At this point it is simple, you paid or were given access to the software, support for real developers is provided by Apple. If you can't access the dev forums email them and find out why. As you well understand your copy can be "real" but obtained by unethical means you won't be able to get Apple's help.

I have an incase sleeve and like it a lot. FYI the incase sleeve is $40 in the u.s.a. either at the apple store or any b & m store thats atleast what i have found.
They are several cases that are cheaper but I lug my mbp around a lot and felt the protection was a small insurance policy (with in reason).

I'll be sticking with my iPhone 4 regardless of any improvements.
Ditto. I just want iOS 5. I couldn't care less about any hardware upgrades.

Well, I don't think you'll see a lot in terms of the i5 vs. the i7 for what you're doing. I'd get it with the std, 4GB, and upgrade to 8GB later if you think you'll need it. My guess is no, but don't buy what you don't need...
As for iWork vs. Office debate; hard to say. We use iWork with no issues at all. I have Office through work, and honestly for home use, and my son @ school, we all use iWork. It's fast, easy, and simple.
All the other stuff should be fine. Camera's, etc. should all work out of the box. Don't listen to some; iPhoto is great, and works for what it's intended for...if you need more, then go to Aperture, or something like it.
Lastly; 6 years? Hard to tell. Not knowing what you're expectations are. If you're expecting it to last 6 years, then you may want to go to the i7 to extend the processor out a bit. I have no doubt that the OS will run fine, and that the system should last close to 6 years, and perform okay. But it's no guarantee...
Oops! I guess this is the last item, not that previous..lol. Applecare; yes...definitely worth the cost. I'd get it closer to the end of year one though, that'll give 4 really. If you get it now, there's overlap. At least that's how it used to work?

Yeah, we traded away the ability to see titties in the morning paper for more "perceived freedoms". I'm not sure when they made the swap but I think we as citizens got hosed.

Pitty it's so much; it is quite a fun toy.
I agree that it is basically a toy. I played around on the site for a good hour when it came out and thought it was cool but haven't touched it since. While it has a ton of interesting information, I have a hard time believing there's many people that find it useful and practical enough to justify the price.
Feel free to prove me wrong though App Store.

No, but she's cute, which is better than P.C. or Mac (although I like P.C. as a dry comedian.)

Foxconn has been known for its human rights abuses of its workers.. this isn't new. While China economically is becoming more and more powerful over the USA, it still has a lot to learn about work place human rights.
This is why they are becoming more and more powerful. They feel that the end justifies the means regardless of the human toll.

Im not just bidding on the receipt or a picture, right? ;)
it sucks that there are people out there who actually try to pull scams like this and sometimes even get away with it.
sickening... :(
BUT, as i say in the auction, BID WITH CONFIDENCE! :)

I live in a state where there are no Apple stores. And as far as I know, there is no Apple owned business presence in the state. So why do I have to pay sales tax on items shipped in to me? No other online retailer does that.
