Try resetting the SMC and troubleshoot your MagSafe adapter. Instructions for both in the CHARGING section of the following link. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

You may be able to tether. I've personally used a Sony Ericsson W705a - which does not require any third-party drivers - but there are likely plenty of other devices that can be used out of the box.

I have the premium xbox 360 which outputs 1080i with component on my hdtv. The hdtv is capable of outputing 1080i maximum, not 1080p. So..would an elite with hdmi make the picture look better at 1080i or would it only help if i needed to go 1080p? THanks.

There is no real way of knowing unless you were to bug and spy on every single person who has anything to do with apple-at the workplace and at home. This means that it could be or it couldn't be. I find no reason for writing this post and anyone out there who thinks I make no sense-just tell me to stop.

iLife '11 is very new, so '12 is at least a year away. And since the individual apps are now sold in the App Store, there likely won't be any iLife Suite anymore.
In the iWork front, those apps will have a lot to gain if revised for Lion, so expect a new Pages, Keynote, and Numbers at that time.

You can buy Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 for $99, possibly less.
You can buy OEM for $99, although technically its only supposed to be purchased with new systems. Just purchased it yesterday for bootcamp.. That one I did read.
OEM also has no support and is bound to a single system board.

vollspacken,
I'm with you, I'm also frustrated at the lack of a compelling price-performance ratio in the Apple portable line right now. I have the same opinion as you in that I don't really need DVD-R, just a better value and maybe a better video card and bluetooth. $3200 for an 800MHz laptop? They're not getting that from me, that's for sure. I'd also consider the 14inch iBook, but paying $1800 for a laptop that has the absolute minimum video card to run the current OS, and cannot be upgraded, is a veto. It seems that something good is on the horizon, and we just need to be patient. It looks like it'll be January.
Evidence points to the possibility that they had planned to get updates in the last few weeks: certain promotions running out, pulling all refurbs off the site, and that it had been 8 mos since the last update (typical upgrade time). But it appears that something went wrong and they had to delay, thus refurbs are back and new promos in place (2x RAM, new monitor promo, Office suite) to tide us over until the new stuff comes out in January.
But at least then, the new ones SHOULD be comparatively compelling, and there just may be a cool new monitor to get as well.

A faster Hard Drive really does that much? Interesting. Thanks
[/lilstewart92]
Sure does, the HDD in the eMac is 3000rpm faster than the one in the iBook. It makes a huge difference when the computer has to page in and out of the HDD. An iBook can be faster if you use a Firewire external 7200rpm drive and make it your boot drive.

Hi everyone,
I just bought a new external hard drives for my movies so i thought i could give a try to Time machine on the old one.
I have some questions that i couldn't any answer so I thought you guys could maybe help.
I want to use Time Capsule to only to back up the songs I have on my computer.
I don't really want to back up everything, only the music folder and maybe another one.
Is there a way to do that? If so, can anybody tell me how?
Thank you

Now this is my favorite glaswegian :D
He always teach us how to open the box in such a manner way .. you should all learn from him
Anyway, Id like to see
1. Heavy gaming benchmark, GTA IV, BlackOps, Crysis 1/2, Battlefield 2
2. Photoshop performance, please try to apply heavy filtering to large photo
3. Video encoding performance
4. Compare boot time with Macbook Pro 2011 (this is the main competition for iMac) or Air
Wow sorry for so many request, but really .. Im a fan, you know my ID here starts with an i like in iPod or iGlaswegian
:apple:
Cheers bud
1) Ive got a few games lined up, ive stolen them off a mate who is into his PC gaming. So this area should be fine and well covered.
2) I can't use Photoshop to save my life (well, literally). When you say 'heavy filtering' - could you shed some more light on this and/or any other tests you want related to PS.
3) Oh yesssss (Churchill advert). This won't be an issue.
